Last months, we received a lot of tickets that sent to us with the same issue. When users request to change their name with HelpDesk, their name is changed in Active Directory with AD team but this change is not synced with User information in SharePoint site.
Following is one of many solutions to fix it.
– Go to http(s)://{WebAppURL}/_layouts/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=0
– Click the link to “Delete user from site collection”
– Then ask the users log on the SharePoint site again. The new information will be generated at this time
